Planet500D is all about the Canon 500D. We also have the 500D wiki where much of the information from the blog gets stored for easy access.

Why planet500D?

I’ve always had Canon cameras. Call me a fanboy if you want… over 30 years with Canon equipment. A year ago, I bought a 5D and fell in love. I started a blog about it and that eventually expanded into planet5D and then, when I bought the 5D mk ii, I fell in love with that.

Then, the 500D was announced… and so much of it is similar to the 5D mk ii, so I thought it would be smart/easy to clone planet5D into planet500D – and thus planet500D was born. Simple name, easy to remember and yet still described what I hope the essence of the site will be. Everything about the 500d – the best information on the planet.

Forums – a friendly place to interact with other T1i/500D owners in our forums.
